Mobile Mechanic
What our mobile mechanics do
- Minor and major services at your home
- Batteries, alternators and starters
- Brake pads, discs and fluids
- Diagnostics and warning lights (OBD scan)
- Non-starts and roadside-style call-outs
- Pre-trip and pre-purchase checks
Registrations
Mobile mechanics aren't legally registered like electricians, but we flag membership of the RMI (Retail Motor Industry Organisation) or its MIWA mechanics' association, trade-test (Red Seal) certificates and MIBCO-registered employers on the fundi's profile, and we check ID and two references. Work happens at your home, so we ask fundis for proof of public liability cover where they have it.
Emergencies
A car that won't start on a workday is urgent. Mark the job as urgent; fundis can set an after-hours callout, which they show you before you confirm.
